Weekend feathers

Over the weekend the chicks seem to have doubled in size and now have loads of feathers!

Look how we have grown!

We have babies!

After a long bank holiday weekend, we returned to school to find that the eggs have hatched and we have babies! Mum, and dad, are very busy feeding them.

Acorn Class visit Mr File's office to see the eggs!

We came to Mr File's office and we saw the mummy bird sitting on her eggs. We tried to count them and we think we saw 8 eggs. To check that the camera was live, Mrs Knight went outside and spoke to us. We could hear her lovely voice really clearly!

We have eggs...but how many?

She has been busy while we have been away. The eggs have been laid on 16th or 17th April. I wonder when they will hatch?

Monday 27th March

A busy day!

Bird Box camera Spring 2017

We put up our bird box (with a camera) and within 9 days we had Blue-tits showing interest. We were hoping that they would continue to show interest and sure enough they are still visiting and have been very busy making what looks like a nest! Watch this space for more information!

Sleeping

After a busy day building the nest...she sleeps!

I don't like that bit!

During nest construction, they can be very picky over what stays and goes.

Busy!

After a horrid day yesterday, when the wind and rain lashed around our school, the birds are busy playing catch-up on the nest construction.
